Desert Friends is the sonic collaboration between Joshua Tree–based musician and producer Antrom Alexander, Vancouver artist Lucas Penner, and drummer Cody Rhodes. Blending flavours of surf, Middle Eastern, and spaghetti-western music, the trio creates an expansive, cinematic sound that drifts between meditative and hypnotic.

Rooted in the Mojave Desert and recorded at Two Palms Studio in Indian Cove, Desert Friends’ music evokes the heat and stillness of the high desert — reverb-drenched guitars, winding melodies, and grooves that move like mirages. Joined by a rotating cast of collaborators, they craft soundscapes that feel equally at home in a sunset canyon or a late-night city drive.

Their debut album Lost Palms Oasis reflects that vision — a collection of instrumental pieces shaped by the desert’s rhythm and light.
